2. Download the provisional registration form.
Go to http://www.mciindia.org/InformationDesk/DownloadApplicationForms.aspx and look at notice board.
2.Book a ticket to Delhi.( Nowadays you can apply online.)
3.Collect the list of following documents listed in the form as checklist.
Checklist
Along with the application form,make sure you get adequate number of attested copies (eg:-
1. 4 of degree certificate and mark sheet each)
2. 2 of eligibility certificate.
3. 1 of 10th mark sheet and passing certificate if you have it.
4. 1 of 11th mark sheet.
5. 1 passport photocopy with all the pages attested.
6. 2 of NBE pass certificate.)
Besides this, give 3 photos with front view with your name written on the back and put two signatures on a A4 paper and go to the MCI office.
Please check the list if anything has been missed out
Carry all the relevant originals with you. Certain states need to give their 10th original pass certificate.
4. The visitors time is only at 3 pm - 5 pm in the evening. Plan accordingly.
5. Don`t forget to collect your acknowledgement and tracking number when you have got your documents verified.
6. Try to take your own stapler and single hole punch machine.

DeleteAs in your passport i guess. But make sure which one you want, because it will be another headache to change it. They will usually check passport.

ReplyDelete@anonymous:- For Pg , you should have completed PG wherever you study. You can clear MCI after your PG but it wont be necessary to do Internship once again, but only your MBBS degree will be recognized in the government hospitals. After clearing MCI , a long gap cannot be taken, the registration certificate of MCI has a validity date, which if exceeded wont be recognized.

another thing is what is the usual validity for the provisional registration certificate? coz i heard frm someone that once we receive the passing certificate with provisional registration from mci which takes about a month, we can delay the start of intership by submitting an affidavit. can u pls inform me some loopholes to do this or someone who can help me with this.
@anonymous:- Validity of the Provisional registration certificate is for 1 years from the date on which the certificate was given. This is mentioned in the certificate itself. Yes, it is possible to start later by giving an affidavit with a judge's signature as to the reason why internship was not started within the 1 year.You are again right with respect to the fact that after you've passed MCI, it will take around 2 months or more just for them to give you the provisional certificate.All this plus, once you want to start internship in your respective state there will be delay's again according to state procedures. In Tamil Nadu, it took around 2 months after i got my provisional registration.

ReplyDeleteThanks for all the information that you have been providing. I do have a couple of questions for you though and would really appreciate any input. I have just passed the MCI exam (FMGE) which I gave this September of 2011.
1) Regarding application for provisional registration, it can now be done online too. That means I wont have to go to Delhi personally. Do you know of anyone who has used that facility ?
2) I do not reside in India, but I keep coming here for a duration of 2 - 3 months / year. Do you think it would be possible to have a start - stop type internship. Or would I have to take an entire year off and come finish it off here. Even if you are not aware of the answer, if you could point me in the right direction as to which department would be concerned about a situation like this I would be much obliged.

@nikhil:- my friend tried using online application. It didn't work. Even i didn't want to go to Delhi, but it is better.You need not be there in person. You can send someone on your behalf with your original documents. MCI is open only from 3-5 pm. Internship is continuous for 1 year as far as i know, except in few places in UP, where you can pay money and get attendance. That aspect i`ve heard, but not known anyone doing so. You can verify in delhi.

ReplyDelete@anonymous:- Well sir, the verification fee, is a demand draft addressed to your board, but given in MCI office.
ReplyDeleteRegarding the magistrate's signature for reason of late application, i`m not sure. But i guess, you must ask some regional court. Usually they must have done this many times, and they usually do it in 2 minutes for Rs.500! If you are still in doubt. Just go to MCI, ask for the sample of the affidavit and you can get it signed in dwaraka court nearby for Rs.20

@prassana:- all i know doctor, is my friend tried it and they said, their online system for provisional registration doesn't work. That is the reason I had to go to Delhi.I`m not sure if it does now. You can verify once with MCI office. On the menu bar in the left of my site, you can see MCI contact number plus MCI online tracking, Going into that, you can find more info about online registration.

ReplyDelete@dr.pvk:- congrats- download the form i`ve given here. Fill it up, arrange all your documents originals and appropriate xerox copies in two different files. Go to MCI ( this is always better, ) if there is any problem with your documentation you will know it then and there. Yes it is necessary to take originals including passport.

ReplyDelete@anonymous:- Doctor, wherever you join - no one will teach you. Most of it will be self learnt( i`m referring to procedures etc). My sincere advise to you would be
ReplyDelete1. Join the MCI recognized hospital closest to your house.
2. Check out if they let you work only for limited hours.
3. Off course you can go for night duty's on the day's when you are free from your internship duties. You can earn some extra cash.
But my honest opinion, which me (from chennai) and my friends from Delhi would like you to know is that - It is nearly impossible to study during internship. You have to sacrifice one for the other. If you want to study, don't take internship and learning procedures seriously. Just find a way to scoot off everyday. If you want to learn all the procedures etc nicely, forget about studying because you will be too tired at the end of the day. I do not meant to discourage you. But this is a general opinion amongst most of them who do house-surgeoncy.

ReplyDeleteOne copy will require attestation, the other copy doesn't. Read the instructions written in the space given for affixing the photograph.
For gazzeted officer, in case you forget and go to delhi( like i did ! lol) then nearby MCI, go to dwaraka court, pay Rs.20 and get the signature.

ReplyDelete@anonymous:- Between 3 to 5 pm, process takes about half an hour to stand in que, verification of documents and getting your tracking number. If you have friends in delhi, then go waste some more time in Promanade mall, in case you are planning to stay there that day. Its worth it!

@anonymous:- it means whether after passing the final year in your country, are you allowed to become a registered practioner there(the country you studied in) or whether you have to write a separate exam again to become registered.

@anonymous:- no use doing both. If you are going in person, just take all documents and get it verified. Won't take long. Get your tracking number and track your progress online.

ReplyDeleteno specific month, but you`ll be able to start immediately in delhi(within a month or so). I am in madras medical college in chennai, i started nearly 3 months after i got my result ( and this was after using maximal influence!). The state procedures take up some time in govt colleges.
DeleteFor private colleges which are recognized by MCI, you can try telling them once u have cleared MCI, u`ll be getting your results shortly, and by then you can start your internship( if you have enough influence!)

ReplyDeleteyour father can do the needful in your behalf with respect to registration. ( ie verification of documents) but the documents would need your signatures.

just tell the date you entered by road then. Doesn't matter. Take xerox of all pages of passport and give. It shouldn't be a problem.If you are really worried, leave it blank, go to delhi with rest of documents complete and inquire there before filling it.

Here.. are they asking abt the internship done in foreign country during our Medical curricula..?

I hv finished from Russia and in our Degree they hv mentioned our Registration Number..
But sm of my friends told that the Registration number on our Degree is different from License numbers meant here so we r still unregistered in Russia..

You mean that small paper where they give your tracking number n all? they make spelling mistake in everyones name in the receipt.no problem, as long as the spelling mistake is not in your provisional.

ReplyDeletewhat do you mean long time, The total time alloted is only between 3.00 pm - 5.00 pm by MCI, the whole process wont take more than 10 minutes, if you have all documents and originals in proper order.

you can only try calling up NBE. I know it sounds odd, but it is usual to get the certificate late:-)

Delete1. For appearing in exam, you can even appear for 2013 jan AIPGMEE,, but if you get a rank, you won't be eligible to join.
2. If you only wanted to appear in 2014 exam jan, why the hurry, you are finishing it this december right? you can apply for permanent registration, and join coaching classes and write the exam without any problem.

DeleteYes, it should be the date u submit to mci, but it is of minor concern, when i went to mci to submit my documents, they collected all the applications of candidates who submitted that day, and tied all the applications in a bundle and wrote the date on top with red marker pen. So you get the picture... write the day you are submitting it, but issue is not of great significance.

The reg no, is the number you write throughout from 1st year to final year in your exam papers- that is the number by which you are affiliated to the university. Valid from and upto, will be from your first day to final day. If you are in too much doubt, leave it blank to find out in MCI.

you need provisional for doing internship in india, if you haven't already.
DeleteYou can try asking any private colleges listed in mci recognized hospitals for internship if they might take you without the provisional till you get it.
Respected sir..: i had cleared my fmge march 2012 exam but did not recieve any passing cetificate still..my other friends and even those whose result was withheld have received their letters...i tried contacting the NBE but they do not pick up the phone..i had even mailed to them n even posted a complainted to their address yet no response..!my another friend who also did not receive the letter asked her friend to visit the office to which they said to wait for 5 days since their office is shifting..they say if we dont get the letter still we have to lodge a police complaint since this is a govt original document....! what should be done..i have no clue ..should i personelly go to delhi .? but they said coming to delhi would yield no use sincde the letter will only be posted n not handed...they say we cant show the internet pass result also ...pls help.!

DeleteThey usually pick up, monday morning's. They won't hand you the letter but if you have some relative in delhi, atleast they can ask. Usually, they never allow anyone to enter, mostly have to speak through telecom. Try to call them this week , patiently. I hope you shall get it soon.
Hello Dr, i passed the FMGE March-2012 and have also received the passing certificate from NBE. But i wanna know if i can postpone my registration work with MCI, i mean how long can i wait before i apply for provisional registration. Because "I'm looking forward to go work abroad for a couple of years and then come back and do my internship" - is this possible?

the deadline starts only after you get your provisional registration after applying. You can apply for Provisional registration whenever you want ( you need to confirm once with MCI regarding this though for any change)

Mandatory for nbe pass certificate. Affidavit get in near mci itself dwaraka high court. Or get it in your place, if u know someone.yes, gazzeted officer attestation and your own signature on all pages.

DeleteThats the day i learnt good contacts go a long way in delhi. Btw, my friend has collected mci permanent registration also in one and half month, directly from mci office. Yes, for majority it is by post, but if you know people, possibility of collecting it directly is possible.

Thnx dude, i have written an article on this, on what you can do during the delay. Instead of breaking your head over this certificate delay issues like i did, you can use time constructively, probably learn something, go to some hospital or any famous doctors opd, or do anything else you like. Probably you can help others better than me, who knows. Endless possibilities, be creative and enjoy.

ReplyDeleteTry asking them, if i was in your place i would probably wait till 29th oct for court verdict on neet, if neet prevails try for dec 6th date. By then, try and pester nbe to give your pass certificate, submit it in delhi immediately before dec 6th and get acknowledgement receipt of submission. Without acknowledgement, you cant appear in exam, unless you have original provisional or permanent registration issued by mci. Mci wont entertain result card, they need original nbe certficate. rarely nbe gives the certificate by hand if you have good contacts in delhi.

No idea doc, this is the first time nbe has preponed neet creating all these problems. But if i were you, i would probably be ready to face the fact that,chances of writing this years neet is remote. But i would keep trying my luck with nbe.

It was there in the most recent checklist that my junior applied for after clearing march exam. They check date of birth in 10th marksheet. mci site? You said checlist in mci site or the form you downloaded from their site? Try reading in appendix n all. As far as i know, 10,11,12 th mrk sheet are reqd.

ReplyDeleteSorry for late reply, I mentioned this before, self adhesive slip is just your signature on a4 paper. You need to give two signatures, spaced apart with your name written below. Affidavit is required only if there is delay in internship completion and applying for permanent registration.
